Introduce a client with a clear handover.

Regalis welcomes professional introductions where a client may benefit from an investment or finance conversation. We agree the purpose of the introduction, the client's permission and how the relationship will be handled.

The relationship

A professional referral with a defined handover

An introduction can begin with a simple explanation of the client's need and an agreed way for the team to make contact. The referral partner does not need to prepare a loan application or recommend an investment unless separately authorised to do so.

We respect the existing professional relationship and agree the communication approach before requesting further information from the client. Updates should reflect both the client's consent and the referral partner's role.

Any referral remuneration is subject to the applicable arrangement and disclosure. We discuss commercial terms separately so the referral partner and client can understand the relationship before a referral proceeds.

An introduction begins a conversation

Accountants, lawyers, advisers and other professional contacts may identify a client need outside their own service scope. A permitted introduction can connect that client with the appropriate Regalis team for an investment, private wealth or finance discussion. The client should understand why the introduction is being made and agree the information that can be shared.

The referral partner role is different from an external finance broker preparing and managing a loan submission. It also differs from the Regalis team providing the relevant investment or finance service. Referrals should stay within their agreed role and professional authority. A clear handover identifies the need, preferred contact and extent of any progress updates without giving access to the client's complete financial position. The Introducer Portal, where access is provided, follows the permissions established for the relationship.

The process, explained

  1. 01

    Establish the relationship

Introduce your business, professional role and client needs. Discuss the services you intend to provide, the authority you hold and the type of relationship you want to establish with Regalis.

  2. 02

    Agree responsibilities and information handling

Confirm who can communicate with the client, which information can be shared and how documents will be supplied. Discuss any relevant verification, commercial terms and disclosure requirements before relying on the arrangement.

  3. 03

    Prepare an authorised handover

For a live matter, explain the client objective, timing and known complications. Identify the decision being sought and who will manage the application or investment discussion after the introduction.

  4. 04

    Maintain the agreed communication

Updates follow the client authority and the role of each party. Keep business and contact information current, raise changes to the arrangement and use only the access permissions that have been expressly provided.

Questions before you proceed

Do I need to prepare an application?

A professional referral partner can make an authorised referral without completing the client application. The appropriate team then discusses information and service requirements directly or through an agreed authorised professional.

Are referral payments automatic?

No standard payment should be assumed. Any commercial arrangement depends on the agreed relationship, relevant requirements and disclosure. Discuss the terms before making an introduction in reliance on remuneration or representing an arrangement to a client.

Make the handover clear

Start with your professional role, the client need and the permission to make contact. A defined referral partner relationship helps establish who takes the conversation forward and which updates can be shared.
